5 Things You Should Never Do in SJA

Hey, hey, hey mean mortals! Thank you for visiting my blog. Today, I'm going to discuss with you the 5 Things You Should Never Do in SJA. Saint Joseph's Academy is known for its rigidity when it comes to rules and regulations. The school enforced provisions to be followed and students were expected to bend to these rules. We, the students, were instructed to follow the student handbook and were required to read it at the start of every school year. If a student refuses to string along these so-called rules, suspension, exclusion, and expulsion is what's in store for him. Do you want to experience suspension? Or would you rather face exclusion? Does expulsion scare you? If your answer is no, no, and yes, then you have come to the right place. Here are the 5 Things You Should Never Do in SJA.

1. Sing "do-do-do-do-do-DORA" in front of the prefect's office.
--Okay. People, don't pretend that you don't know Dora the Explorer. Everyone knows her. The question is, does she know herself
? If yes, then you should be scared. Come on everyone, please get your student's diary and handbook and turn it to page 54. School Discipline, minor offense , number three, states that "Repeated bullying (this also includes giving of alias or name-calling or name dropping)." So heads up people. Remember when to sing and when NOT to sing "do-do-do-do-do-DORA." If you value your lives, don't EVER sing it near the bookstore. Or the HS Chip Booth. Just sing it in your mind and imagine her singing "Where are we going? *clap, clap, clap* to the __________".

2. Mock a priest. *cough-cough- MAY THE LORD BLESS YOU -cough- cough*

-- Okay guys, sue me, but this is true. Almost all Josephians (students, maintenance, and even some of the faculty and admin members) find the singing HI-LA-RIOUS. After every mass, almost all the students goes around singing "MAY THE LORD BLESS YOU, MAY THE LORD KEEP YOU" and I even saw some faculty members hide their obvious grins, smirks and giggles after the singing thing. C'mon guys, we should be thankful that he is always inspired and due to his obvious inspiration, we always get to hear that wonderful and majestic song about God. We all have our moments, give him his. Let him talk (sing?) to us and let him do his job as a servant of God. Don't mock him, respect him. Don't sing "MAY THE LORD BLESS YOU", let him sing it for us.

3. Walk through a window.

--To all of you readers, have you ever been to the diamond building? If yes, then I think you could understand why I put this in the list of things never to do in SJA. I can't help but wonder why they made those windows SOOOOO big. I mean, its almost the same size as the door! What is the purpose of those GI-NORMOUS windows if not for the same purpose as the door? If any of you knows the answer to my question, then please tell me. It's been bothering me for a while now. But before I get carried away by my emotions, I'll continue writing my post. Almost everyday, a student gets reprimanded because of those windows that can be almost be called doors. If they (teachers, admin) are REALLY irritated by that, why don't they just make it a NORMAL sized window? Like the ones in 1st year classrooms? Anyways, just please remember NOT to use those windows as doors. Use the REAL door. Remember people, REAL DOORS.

4. Eat inside the classroom.

-- Ahem! GUILTY!! Whether you admit it or not, eating inside the classroom is the most common unheeded provision in our school. During a (boring?) discussion, instead of snoring your way into the depth of your subconscious mind, instead of listening to your teacher's interesting (really?) lectures, you...EAT! Yes, that's right. YOU EAT! The following are just SOME of the strategies of the students in making their "food eating" unnoticeable:

a.) While the teacher is writing on the board, you "shoot" the food into your mouth.
b.) When th
e teacher is saying something in front, you drop your ball pen near your bag and you will say "ay, nahulog" then you will get you food and put it in your mouth.
c.) You will hi
de the food or candy in your handkerchief and then you will pretend to wipe your face but the truth is you are already putting the candies in your mouthy-mouth-mouth.

Remember people, no student is allowed to eat inside the classroom. That is only permitted during rainy days so stick to the rules. Heed their call. STOP doing it. (joke lang.. haha.. pede basta wag lang pahuli)

5. Super Slide on the stairs

-- Do you know the stairs in the diamond building? I think you do. Everyone does. There are a number of incidents there where a student slides and due to his stupidity (no offense) or maybe clumsiness, they become afflicted with physical pain. I was one of those unfortunate people who are somewhat clumsy while walking. While talking with my mates and laughing out loud with them, my feet got constricted with my friend's and I fell and "SUPER SLID" all the way down the stairs and stood up to find myself face to face with the people buying chips for lunch. I was so embarrassed (but my friends don't believe it because I just laughed after my fall) and I felt blush rise to my cheeks after that episode. Anyways, just remember to NEVER super slide down the stairs because you might just get lucky and fall into the arms of Mrs. Quintos or Mrs. Alonzo.
